Where are you located?
We are in the beautiful Sam Houston National forest located in Huntsville, Texas. We are an hour from George Bush International Airport and downtown Houston. Our address is 215 FM 2929 RD. Huntsville. Look for our sign hanging from a big branch over our entrance.
What is the venue’s capacity?
We can accommodate up to 150 guests.
Does the venue provide tables and chairs?
Yes, we have custom made poplar tables and benches that are included in the rental. Our tables seat up to 8 guests per table.
Do you have a ceremony area?
Absolutely! We have custom made bench style seating up to 150 guests and a stage.
What happens if it rains?
If it rains your ceremony can be held under our completely waterproof tipis! If it is light rain and you’d prefer, the ceremony still can be held under the pines as long as you make sure the guests bring umbrellas.
What is your alcohol policy?
Couples are allowed to bring their own alcohol, as long as they hire a TABC certified bartender. For every 50 guests a security guard will need to be hired.
Do you allow outside vendors?
We sure do! You are welcome to bring any professional vendors in, as long as they are insured and bonded. Our wedding coordinator will be happy to provide you with our friendor list and help you plan your special day.
Are you pet friendly?
We love animals and would love for your fur babies to be a part of The Shire, if they behave nicely, on a leash and have a dedicated handler the entire time.
Do you require Wedding Day Insurance?
Yes, we do! Event insurance can be purchased through your own insurance company or through online options like WedSafe and WedSure.
Do you have to clean up after the event?
The Shire will clean up and break down after your wedding or event. You are required to clean up personal items, décor and rented décor. This also includes any personal belongings in the wedding suite, unless you are staying the night.
When do we have our ceremony rehearsal?
The ceremony rehearsal is one hour and will be the day before your wedding, subject to availability. If the day before is unavailable, we will work with you to find another day.
What is the size of the tables and the stage?
The tables are 81 ½ long by 26 ¾ wide and 29 ½ high, hand-made from poplar and definitely popular!
